Trail Review(s)
Rider - Eric
Great ride.  The first part of this ride is the same x-country ride as most leaving from Dumont Lake.  The Wyoming Trail widens after the four way intersection.  I have never gone to the right (east) at this four way.  I have looked for an old trail a few times, but have given up each time.  Going straight (north) leads you to Buff Pass.  Going left (west) leads you to both the Mt. Werner and Fish Creek Falls options.  After you round the reservoir on the right side, you'll get on single track again.  Look for the Mt Werner cutoff on you left. This route climbs up to the the ski area.  Once at the ski area, you have a ton of options to go down.  I recommend doing Pete's Wicked Trail if you have energy for one more climb.  If not head that way and catch one of the other singletracks towards valley view or Zig Zag to Creekside.  It is all good.  It really depends on how much is still left in your legs.
Would you ride again?
YES
Any suggestions?
Make a day of it.  This way you can rest at the lakes and enjoy the alpine environment.  Mosquito's can be bad up until early July depending on the temps and snow pack the prior winter.
Options Down the Resort Trails
Options down the Resort Trails from the top of Mt. Werner!
Option 1 - Most work, but hits almost all the best singletrack.
Pete's Wicked Trails to Sunshine to Moonlight to Vally View.
Option 2 -
Same as Option 1, but cuts out the climb up Sunshine.
Skip Sunshine and add Duster for a more direct route
Option 3 - Good mix of single and double track.
Pete's Wicked Trail (just the top part) to Cathy's Cutoff to Sunshine (take a right) then head Zig Zag until you see Creekside. From Creekside you can ride down the paved road, or back up to the Thunderhead lift to continue down lower Zig Zag.
Option 4 - Fastest way down
Storm Peak Challenge to Zig Zag all the way to the base.
